Ways to Repair Damaged Bleached Hair

REPAIR DAMAGED BLEACHED HAIR

The good thing is there are numerous ways to repair damaged bleached hair and restore life to your once vibrant hair!

Keratin Treatment

If you opt to go to the salon, most of them would first recommend you get the keratin treatment to repair damaged bleached hair. What this treatment does is add keratin back to your hair.

First, a serum is applied to the hair and is infused into the damaged hair with a flat iron. Depending on how often you wash your hair, a keratin treatment would last 1 to 2 months.

Custom-made treatments

Treatments that salons offer aren’t usually custom-made or specifically made depending on your hair’s condition. However, there are companies, like Kerastase, that created a formula that a professional can use to diagnose your hair and mix ingredients based on what the damaged bleached hair needs.

This is an excellent repair treatment, knowing that you are providing exactly what your hair needs.

Avocado for deep hair conditioning

Damaged bleached hair is in need of deep conditioning. Like deep conditioning. And Avocado and egg yolk helps! All you need to do is mix one ripe avocado and one egg yolk together. Apply the mixture to wet hair massage gently but thoroughly to the scalp for a few minutes. Leave it on for 20 minutes then wash the hair or rinse with lukewarm water.

Shampoo and Egg mixture

One of the most common and popular hair repair remedies is egg, especially egg whites. The yolk is protein-rich, something that a damaged bleached hair needs. Eggs also contain lecithin that can moisturize your dry hair. After 2 weeks, improvements in your hair can be seen.

Bananas

Similar to avocados, bananas are also beneficial to damaged bleached hair. This fruit is rich in fiber, vitamins, and proteins, all the nutrients your hair needs. All you have to do is mix a ripe banana with honey, castor oil, and yogurt. Avoid the roots. Keep it on for 30 minutes then wash with shampoo.

Pure Coconut Oil

Hair salon treatments can be expensive. This is why DIY or homemade treatments like avocados, bananas, and eggs are popular amongst those who are suffering from damaged bleached hair. Another DIY we suggest is mixing pure coconut oil with olive oil and almond oil.

The hair’s loss of protein is the reason why the hair looks dull and dry and coconut oil can reduce this. It also prevents damage from combing and brushing. In addition, it also has lauric acid that enriches the hair with vitamins and minerals.

Rinse with Rice Water

The water used when boiling rice is beneficial and can make your hair strands stronger. Rice water has inositol, which helps repair damaged bleached hair. You can use this water to rinse the hair to help it repair from the inside out.

All you need to do is strain out the water used from boiling rice and leave it in the fridge overnight. You can use rice water every day if your hair is extremely damaged.
